SmartACS
An app for individuals with acute coronary syndrome

Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of mortality and morbidity in Switzerland, yet secondary prevention after an acute coronary event is suboptimal.

Our project aims to study the effect of a smartphone application that supports lifestyle changes for cardiovascular risk management in a RCT designed to compare the change in exercise capacity after 6 months.

The app features persuasive mechanisms such as a gamified “tour of Switzerland” to visualize progression towards personalized goals and integrates electronic medical record data.

We expect our results to contribute to the changing models of healthcare delivery with the advent of mobile technologies.
